EFI University Training Classes

Brian Macy an accomplished tuner of Horsepower Connection is one of the instructors at EFI University. Brian travels and teaches EFI101 and EFI Advanced and FAST XFI 101 and FAST Extreme training classes for EFI University. These classes are a good informative way to learn EFI tuning or just get a better understanding of what is going on.

EFI101

EFI 101 consists of a total of 1½ days and focuses mainly on classroom discussions followed by an actual live tuning demonstration on a dynomometer. This class begins with a general overview of the basic functions and theory involved in controlling an engine using electronic fuel injection. In depth discussions about each sensor and actuator used, and their functions are held throughout the session with emphasis on interaction between students and instructors to ensure that everyone understands each concept before progressing to the next topic. EFI Advanced

Students who have completed the EFI-101 seminar and wish to progress further and build upon their newly acquired skills are eligible to enroll in the Advanced Workshop to experience one-on-one coaching while tuning an engine in real time. This 8-10 hour class is taught in small groups of 8-10 people at a dynomometer facility, using an actual performance vehicle and allows students the chance to gain practical experience in Dyno operation, vehicle care on the dyno, building a base map from scratch and fine-tuning an engine using electronic fuel injection. Future EFI tuners and technicians need to understand that a large percentage of tuning an engine correctly, depends on his or her ability to grasp the fundamental theories taught in EFI-101 and then put them into practice in real world scenarios. FAST XFI 101

FAST XFI requires extensive knowledge of all parameters used in setting the sensor selections and calibrations, as well as the theory's used in actually tuning the engines. The FAST XFI 101 class consists of 1 day and focuses mainly on classroom discussions dealing with properly setting up a FAST XFI ECU using the latest FAST XFI software. This class is geared towards the FAST XFI ECU but most menus and calibrations will also apply to the Classic FAST ECU as well. If you are a FAST Classic user, you will also benifit from this class. The FAST XFI class is open to end users, dealers and resellers, new or experienced with the FAST XFI software. FAST EXTREME

2 Day FAST Extreme level course is also offered to dig deeper into the essential knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to move to the next level of tuning. The Advanced Extreme class includes a full day of hands-on track tuning at Holly Springs Dragway in Holly Springs, MS. This class requires completion of an XFI™ 101 Training Class, EFI University 101 or a prerequisite test.
